Distribution: Occurring on both sides of the Cascades crest in Washington; Alaska to Oregon, also in New Mexico.

Habitat: Moist montane or subalpine meadows to open forest or thickets.

Botrychium viride is an unpublished name. Genetic and morphological evidence supports its treatment as a taxon separate from B. lanceolatum. Plants referred to as the green genotype of B. lanceolatum belong here.
